Marriage, the Kingdom and the Family

In today’s session we will discuss the marriage relationship, the family, as it relates to the Kingdom of God. Wouldn’t it be great if our faith always produced instantly visible results? Wouldn’t it be fun if we could pray once for a great marriage and…snap, it happened? Instead of heated arguments, cold silences, constant frustration and enduring anger, our marriages were loving, kind, peaceful, joyful and mutually fulfilling? But that’s not always the case. If you’re struggling in your marriage, begin putting these principles to work today.
God wants to help your marriage become strong, healthy and loving. He loves you and wants your marriage to honor Him and be mutually nourishing to you and your spouse. Begin putting these steps into practice as you study His Word and pray, believing for the Holy Spirit to guide you every step of the way!
Your spouse is an important part of this. We realize many times problems arise in a home where one spouse wants to actively serve God and the other does not. There seems to be no agreement and it is difficult. The temptation may come to give up and quit.
But remember: Attack, division and discouragement come from Satan. He knows your family could become one of his worst enemies, and he will try to destroy it now rather than let that happen. Considering separation or neglecting your family in any way is not an option for the believer who really wants to do God’s will. Begin visualizing your family serving the Lord together in a mighty way and stand on Joshua 24:15, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
The call God has for your life and the work you feel He wants you to do is meant to include your family. God does not break up families for the work of the ministry. Marriage and family life were God’s idea and He wants us to honor our marriage vows and take care of our families (see Malachi 2:16, The Amplified Bible, and 1 Timothy 5:8).
We look forward to seeing you there over Zoom or at your respectful Bible Training Center, around the globe.
